They are directly from OEM factories. Comparing to the brand name mobile phone, no advertising fee involved, so lower cost.

Appearance clone to up to date brand name phone

As OEM China factories did not spend on the marketing, they would get the benefits of copying those brand name phones to take the advantage. We always see those China phone are similar to Iphone, Samsung, Blackberry…Consumer can always get the up to date appearance phone with 1/3 pricing of the original brand phone.

Dual sims standby

It is the characteristic of MTK CPU phone. There are some reasons to use 2 sims in one phone. 1) In some countries, different carrier have better GSM signal in some specific area. So users who always go around different area, using 2 different sims with 2 different carriers will ensure the best signal reception. 2) There will be pricing differences for different carrier in different area. So users can also save money to make call with the sim which are cheaper toll rate in that area.

Quality problem.

It is undeniable that the quality of China phone is extreme. Some one have bought a mobile phone, even cannot receiving the phone signal. About how to recognize a quality supplier, we will have another articles coming

There is a problem that many suppliers from Alibaba, EBay…are actually selling secondary quality mobile phone, but they don’t know. In China, most factory will reserve the best quality phone for those steady bulk order ( I am talking about at least 3000 pcs ). Most scanned and squeened inferior quality phone will be distribute to the wholesale market. Most suppliers found un the Ebay, Alibaba are taking stock from. So we can know the quality.

Mostly not 3G compatitable

3G is liscened from Qualcommn, not MTK, which issue makes MTK do not have comparative advantage to develop the platform. If MTK produce the 3G phone, MTK need to pay the license fee, which the costing will be approaching to those international brand android phones, they can always get a better offer for the 3G License to the Qualcommn. So for that android phone with 3G functions, the costing of China android phone may not cost much lower than those big brands

Android market

Official Android market mostly opens to those international brands, rather than the China OEM factories. Buyers may find there is only Android market similar in the phone, which functions are similar, but can search less Android apps.
